Training Them Wisely: Discipling Kids (Digital)
Today’s children are growing up in a world where a biblical worldview is often absent from school, media, and culture. Biblical literacy and intentional discipleship are more important than ever. Training Them Wisely: Discipling Kids is written to encourage and equip parents, caregivers, and ministry leaders to faithfully disciple the next generation.
In this Scripture-based book, Rene addresses common challenges families face when trying to remain consistent in Scripture reading, prayer, and intentional faith conversations. Rather than presenting a rigid program, this resource focuses on cultivating a deep relationship with God and building Christ-centered relationships with children.
Through biblical teaching and practical encouragement, this book will help readers:
Grow in their relationship with God and with other believers
Understand what biblical discipleship looks like in everyday life
Intentionally and lovingly disciple children
Equip kids with a firm biblical foundation
Better understand common questions children are asking today
Using the Bible as the foundation, this book emphasizes that discipleship flows from a growing relationship with God and is lived out through intentional, Christ-centered relationships with others—especially within the family.
This resource is designed for adult personal growth and family discipleship and is not intended for ESA reimbursement.

This book caused me to keep my husband up half the night talking about Jesus and how good He is! If you have young kids, this book is so worth the read with practical tips on sharing the Gospel with others and how to start with our kids. It doesn't stop there because you want that relationship to continue to grow and mature. It is all about setting good habits for you and growing spiritually so you can disciple others. Our God is good and why in the world would we not want to share it?! Using th
I read this book simply hoping for tips on how to better disciple my 3.5 year old and ultimately it changed my parenting for the better. Rene starts by talking to the adult reader / parent about how WE need to grow our faith in order to disciple our kids. She gently, lovingly, and firmly convicted me through the words in the book to start making my time with the Lord a daily and necessary practice. Her practical tips to make that actually HAPPEN in this stage of parenting a little one and workin
I wish I would have found this book sooner. It has changed our family for the better. I longed to train my kids wisely and lovingly disciple them, but I didn't have an example to follow. This book is based in Scripture. I am now reading my Bible each day. We are doing family circle time. Our relationships are so much stronger. Our family is focused on God. I love the list of ideas that can apply to any family. There are so many changes we have made, but they have all been refreshing and easy!
My kids are older, and I do wish I had read this earlier, but Rene would say just move on from here. This book is not discouraging, and does not make you feel guilty, but instead it is encouraging and makes you want to change and desire God with all your heart and disicple your kids exactly as He wants you to. It is so easy to do with suggestions she makes that I was literally able to start applying these principles to my life as I was reading the book. Everyone should read this book!
This book is just what my family needed. Family Circle Time is so easy to implement. I love how she recognizes that all families and kids are different and has so many different suggestions. Do what works for your family within the framework of Scripture. I have never seen the Deuteronomy passage explained so clearly or understood the importance my spiritual walk plays in my kids lives before! Every Christian should read this book - parent or not because the first half applies to everyone.
